Latest Project: Busk in Brum

It may be (super) close to Christmas and with the festivities comes New Year! 2017 will be the year of supporting, promoting and celebrating the buskers of Birmingham with my latest project, Busk in Brum.

Busk in Brum is a hyper-local website for the buskers of Birmingham and offers them an additional platform for their act. Buskers are welcomed to create a profile for their unique performance which can be changed and updated with latest recordings, images or events. With this, the profiles for each busker will be filtered into an array of categories stemming from 'Musician', 'Dancer', 'Artist' and 'Circus' which continues to 'Soloist' and 'Duets/Groups' as well as genres of music and dance etc.

Busk in Brum encourages buskers to provide links to their social media pages, add contact information to be hired for events and sell their merchandise through the site. Considering policy doesn't allow buskers to sell their goods without Street Trading Consent, Busk in Brum allows an additional method for buskers to make profit and generate work in the entertainment industry whilst easily building a fan base online.

The site is currently being rebuilt by a professional web-developer with over 10 years of experience, and soon there will be a PayPal feature and the ability for buskers to log their location. These features will allow buskers profiles to be easily found by those passing them on the street whom are interested in their act. With this, spectators can pay the busker through PayPal as we now live in a society with very little loose change.

Busk in Brum can be used by buskers to promote their act further, but also by the public to show their appreciation and connect with the people who caught their attention in the hustle and bustle of the street. Industry professionals will be able to find the latest talent and together, we can give buskers the recognition they truly deserve!
