Last night delicious jazz tones slipped out of the windows of the Island Bar and floated right through the heart of Birmingham’s city centre.

After weeks of organising, dare I admit stress and maybe even a few little tears, my Music Promotion and PR’s group was in full swing and it was the night we’d all been eagerly waiting for. Alongside my small team Holly Hollister, Thomas Darvill and Harry Bozman we birthed Adorn Promotions. A boutique jazz loving PR agency based in Birmingham.

The evening was packaged and promoted as a listening party for Adorn’s first client, Leicester’s Marcus Joseph. Combining traditional sax with a lathering of thought-provoking spoken word and elegant poetry with beats of hip-hop, Marcus Joseph bought Island Bar to life.

As I sat sipping on Adorn’s very own #RealTalk cocktail, exclusively named after Marcus’s EP (found here) I happily chanted that ‘anything in life is worth working for’ and damn right it is. Looking round a room full of people, the promotion, the meetings and the events planning had all paid off.

Massive thank you to our sound engineers, Jack, Jordan and Dan, Emily our photographer, Marcus’s support acts Mad-Flow, Miss Fire, U.G and DJ Psykhomantus and of course, Marcus Joseph.
